Most haunted medieval castles were the scene of many a night of medieval entertainment. Sometimes it consisted of music and dance but there was undoubtedly the occasional game of cards as well. Certainly in England and Europe, playing cards can be traced back to the late 14th century and although the rules for poker for example had not yet been invented, cards were nevertheless quite a popular medieval past time.
