Medieval history including medieval life and medieval castles can sometimes be better understood if we know the rulers in power at the time. Take England for example - the Normans ruled for almost 100 years but the Plantagenets that followed were in power for almost 250 years.

Here is a list of kings and queens who ruled England between 1066 AD and 1485 AD - from the time of William The Conqueror up to the reign of the Tudors.
