The Château d'Angers - France - Photo Gallery

During one of our visits to France we took the opportunity to visit the castle at Angers in the Loire Valley. We were lucky to have fairly good weather at a time of year when there were few tourists at the site. This French castle was both enormous and imposing and has had a wonderfully interesting history. The Château d'Angers is in the département of Maine-et-Loire, in France. It was founded in the 9th century by the Counts of Anjou and was expanded to its current size in the 13th century. It is now open to the public and home to the Apocalypse Tapestry. (see main page). We think the photographs we took turned out really well. Here is a selection for you to enjoy.
